Adding- Resizing Graphics
Working with Graphics
This is a quick post because some of us believe that what we see is what we get. Then we put a graphic into a blog sidebar and it destroys the blog layout.
So here are some quick tips.
Pictures may all physically look the same in size and layout. However to the webs they are large or small.
Rule1. Compress your picture so your web page loads quicker.
You know if it is not sized correctly because when the page loads it “paints” into view slowly.
Here is a step by step way to resize your pictures.
Define the initial size.
- Find a picture or graphic on your computer drive.
- Find picture and right click on the pictures
- On the menu click properties and you will see the actual size
- Note size and size on disk numbers.
Resize the graphic using ” Microsoft Picture Manager”
Find your picture or graphic
- Right click the picture or graphic
- Select from the Menu “Open With”
- Select from the Menu ” Microsoft Picture Manager”
- Click on top Menu – in middle – “Edit pictures”
- On the Far right Select “Compress”
- On the Far right Select ” WebPages”
(Down below notice the difference in size of file – Original versus Compressed)
(Their can be a huge difference )
- On the Far right Click “Ok” (pictures resizes )
- On The top far Left Click “File”
- From the menu Select ” Save as “
- Enter in a New file name always (and keep the original)
- From there you Close and Enter it in to your web page.
